Ace word and means cheese in Welsh!

A staple addition to most of my foods and always a secondary question in a restaurant - “any Parmesan please???”!

I literally do use it with all of my meals.

But i was asked a question a few months back - “what’s the best cheese out there for wine pairing?!”.

My response was - start with a good wine and match! - or your favoured cheese and pair the wine.

Manchego is one of my favourite cheeses and I also like some blues, cheddars (marks and Spencer Cornish cruncher is mega!!!).

So we’ve a few to choose from.

Now we ask - red or white?!

Auto pilot is red! - everyone thinks red is best!

Yes a Rioja rocks with Manchego - both Spanish and are mega together.

Then the cheddars and blues pop up - monster flavours and need some big guns to cut through the flavours to compliment - sav blanc, reisling (one of the best food pairing wines in the world - versatile and forgiving!) and a cab sav!

But I’ve had a chilled Malbec (yes chilled - an experiment for a wine course I did about 3 years ago!) and paired it with a cheddar and was sublime!!!

A great cracker, salted butter and a slab of caws - mega!!!

When you buy a good bottle and some carefully chosen caws - make it count and a little research will help you enjoy!

Nothing more pleasurable and cheese and wine isn’t just for Christmas 🍾🍾🍾🧀🧀🧀

Ive pasted my weekend whites!

Both UK wines and food choice is underway - Er Indoors will say I think about my tea (not dinner!) when I’m eating my breakfast / lunch!

All about the bwydens 😋😋😋
