Nothing finer than a recap of bottles I’ve sampled so far. Was asked yesterday for some gifts for friends and work colleagues! Difficult choices all round!
The key to buying wine isn’t the price or the country.
Yes they help and can sometimes ease the burden.
But I’ve found this past year with the months focusing on specific countries - the ones I started weren’t my go to shelves or regions when I’m buying!
Italian and American wines never drew me in like Australian or South African!
Then France wasn’t in my sights until we spent time there and travelled Vinyard’s - and we’ve travelled all over - north and south and most of the middle - still loads to see and not done yet!!! (Might even buy a house there🤔🤔🤔😉)
Ive kept the choices to a limited type for non drinkers of these grapes - keep the costs above £10 and allow more wine for the Buck!
Stick to a medium bodied red and something that can be slurped without the need for a complex food pairing.
And maybe even try the wine yourself first - buying a wine you haven’t sampled is sometimes a bad show - great excuse to recap too!!!
Ive posted an article I read a few weeks back with some cool bottles and a great mix of prices.
Enjoy
