So worthy of a mention - weekend wonder wine and perfect standalone / pairing slurp.
Arguably the find of the last few months and cements the fun back into wine!
Wine descriptions, at times, are just barking!
You read the experts (this is subjective too - expertise is personal choice and wine typifies this perspective!) opinions and sometimes you go with it!
SometImes you read it and think “zero clue what they’re meaning there - silly over use of words to describe this!”
One example - ‘ripe, rich and rounded, with smooth dark fruits and hint of chocolate’.
Didn’t get hardly why dark fruits.
What I got was a tasty and bold flavoured bottle of wine and made me want to buy another one! Would pair well with a dark meat like beef or, if like me and don’t eat meat, mushrooms and earthy veggies - mega tastes!!!
The key to wine is enjoying and sometimes labelling is off putting and makes you question your choice - even go with old favourites to the detriment of expanding your choices and sampling the c 100 million plus bottle options out there!!!
The Shiraz (rizzy and the still) bottles in the picture will bought again and again.
Yes I vary my wines considering the choices I have - but good to mark a corker and coming back to it!
Plus I converted an old friend to the sparkling reds (rizzy) on the weekend!
Wine is for fun not confusion!
